One of the most common things I've heard since moving back to Emmetsburg 15 years ago is how hard it feels to meet people. To get involved. To find your place. To feel like you're home. It's why the overarching goal of our mission statement is connection, bringing people together through community events, recreation, and the arts. Encouraging residents to explore our small businesses, history, culture, and activities. And it's why we are so incredibly excited to introduce the Five Island Life Volunteer Corps. 

We know you are busy. We know you have so many things on your plate. We know you feel pulled in a hundred different directions. And yet, we know you'd love to get involved in your community, to give back, to meet friends and neighbors, and explore new passions. Our goal is to make this as simple as possible, connecting you directly with volunteer opportunities in Emmetsburg.

  The best part? Corps members commit to just 1-3 hours of volunteer work per month. You choose what opportunities work for your schedule and your interests.
